Summary
A tool is being provided by Microsoft to help remove malicious software from Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Server 2003.
Resolution
In an effort to help with the cleaning of malicious code from it's operating systems, Microsoft has released the "Malicious Software Removal Tool". The tool can be run from the website (http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx) or can be downloaded and run locally. The software will scan a system for malicious code and viruses and automatically clean any problems it finds. Afterward a report will be generated describing what actions were taken. The tool works with Windows XP, 2000 and 2003.
The tool will be updated on the first Tuesday of each month.
